My group needs to be aware of the problems that can occur during filming. We had to think of resolutions and possible emergency changes to make sure we do not have an problems with the filming and editing of our opening sequence. If we follow this plan if problems occur, we will essentially have no issues.
Problems with cast-
It is likely there may be several problems with casting of actors and actresses such as unreliable actors, drop-outs and the issue of poor acting making the whole opening sequence look bad. In order to prevent the issue of unreliable actors, our group decided to make the main actress a member of our group, meaning we minimised external cast members, this also keeps the problem of anyone dropping out to unlikely. Furthermore, if there is an issue of substandard acting, we do have 2 back up actors to play the main role, who are family members of the group, which then means it is unlikely for them to drop out but does have a slightly higher risk of being unreliable. However, poor acting may not be a huge issue as our opening sequence contains minimal dialogue, and natural performance which isn't too difficult to act. However, if the dialogue is a struggle we have a group members brother who speaks fluent spanish, to do a voice over for us, this way he is not on screen, there will be no problems with not being able to hear the dialogue and he will not laugh or act poorly as it is possible for him to say it without us there. Furthermore, if there is still a problem of the actress not being able to act natural, we have the idea of filming her without her knowing. For example, on the day we are filming, when she is in costume with her hair and make up completed, she could just be having a conversation with another group member and we would turn the camera on without her knowing, which we then can cut and edit to get the facial expression and body language we need for the opening sequence which will be literally her natural personality. The main focus for our sequence will be based on sound, body language and facial expressions, meaning our sequence must be presented clearly for the audience to understand what is happening.
Problems with crew-
As we are well aware, there is problems with the crew members as we need to fit the filming and the editing around everyones schedules. This could be due to work, being late or the type of travel when getting to the location to film. In order to prevent this, we have thoroughly discussed the easiest location for all of us to get too, which is close to all of us to get too, what time to meet up, the props and costume needed and to work out 2 days before the time to meet up exactly and how to get there. We all have each others contacts so if an emergency on the day of filming we are able to get in contact with each other instead of not being able to reach other. We also created a filming schedule with the days and specific hours when we are filming which fits around everyones schedule, to make sure we know exactly we also wrote on the schedule what we are filming so we know what to bring with us to the location so there is no problems with forgetting props or wearing the correct costume.
Technical Difficulties-
Our group could encounter a few technical problems such as loss of footage, backing up files, or if the camera runs out of battery. Incase the camera ran out of battery, we will ensure it is fully charged before we are filming. we also have scheduled breaks in-between filming and our location has places to charge the camera, in the break time we will charge the camera to prevent it running out of battery. Furthermore,we have taken into consideration that we may lose footage or shots that we have taken, to prevent this we decided we would take multiple shots of various scenes to see what looks better as wells as making sure we have files just in case some may become corrupted. There is also the possibility that we might lose the files on the computers one day, we have decided to upload the footage to only the schools computers as we don't want to have our shots all on different computers, we also once uploaded the footage will save everything we have every few minutes to make sure we lose nothing and if theres a problem with the computer it will be saved.
Continuity Problems-
There maybe a few continuity errors occurring throughout our opening sequence such as changes to the location, costume or props. In order to prevent these errors of costume, we have taken a picture of Hannah's outfit from the first day filming, paying close attention, taking long shots, medium shots, and close ups, also extreme close ups on her make up to make sure we use the right colours and shades, and the same top, coat, trousers and shoes, e.g whether she had her coat done up, or her top zip undone, her top tucked into her trousers or not. We can then refer to these on each day we are filming to make sure we have no continuity errors in costume. We also wrote down the time of day we recorded, and all the props we used throughout filming to make sure there are no errors with different times of day outside, and different props used. We also took a picture of the room we was in on the first day we filmed so we can also refer back to the photo if anything has accidentally been moved around it can be put back into place.
